Feeding at Grass
01 July 2009

Grass quality and quantity start to change around this time of year which means that the rest of the ration needs to change to complement it.

Buffer feeding is a 'must do' in order to ensure adequate energy intake, high yielding cows cannot eat enough grass to satisfy their requirements at this time of year.

Now is the time to start moving onto BOCM PAULS HFC diets with their unique fermentable energy balance, designed to complement mid-season grass. Their higher energy levels help to offset the decline in grass quality.

The TDF diets are certainly working, our costed herds have a higher butterfat percentage than the average, and our customers are telling us how well cows are milking.

The higher yields and higher fat percentage show how the TDF diets complemented early season grazing.
